Biosensor and Material Science lab

The Biosensor and Material Science Laboratory of the Department of Molecular Medicine is led by Dr Leo Bey Fen. Their research mainly focuses on the development of electrochemical biosensing platforms for foodborne pathogens detection for food safety application. Recently, the possibility of applying the in-house developed biosensor to detect disease markers are being explored as well. Besides, their laboratory also works on nanomaterials synthesis and characterization for biomedical application, innovative approaches in nanosafety and toxicology assessment as well as application of electron microscopy imaging techniques (TEM and SEM) for life science and material samples.
